Life Lessons from Lazarus

Last week I shared a funny little story from life on the farm in my newsletter (are you not subscribed? You should be! Just click HERE to be my email BFF!), and I thought I’d share it here with you today!

(Not actually Lazarus, but he plays Lazarus on the blog)

Have you heard the one about Lazarus?

No, not the brother of Martha and Mary.

The mouse.

Yes, you read that right. The mouse. Last week one of our cats killed a mouse…or so we thought! My husband found the mouse, or Lazarus, as we'll call him from here on out, and disposed of him in the outside garbage. A short while later, my daughter Shelby went out and found Lazarus, ALIVE! He was laying in the trash can, breathing and looking up at her as though he was asking for help! She and Kennedy gave him some food and water and allowed him to rest on their porch, safe from the cats, and after a little while, Lazarus was up and about and ready to be released into the wild!

What's the point of this story? Well, there isn't one really, other than me wanting to share a little story from life on the farm! But maybe we can take a life lesson from Lazarus…

Sometimes you get beat up and knocked around by life. In those moments, a little rest, some food and water, and love from the people around you may be just what you need to get back in the game. Next time you're feeling like you're laying in a pile of garbage, remember Lazarus, and take heart!

XOXO,

Angie
