Get Your Life Together - Digital Clean Up

Any time is a good time to make changes, but as seasons shift I like to re-evaluate how things are working for me and for my family, and make those changes accordingly. Today we’re gonna talk about cleaning up our online/digital life - it doesn’t take up physical space, but it sure can take up a lot of mental space! So here’s what I’m doing to simplify, bring more joy, and help control my online experience.

UNFOLLOW

Anywhere you spend time online, whether it’s Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, Pinterest, Twitter - you are likely following people and you don’t even know why! Maybe it was for a giveaway, or maybe a time when you were looking for more information on a certain topic - whatever the reason, unfollow anyone who doesn’t add value to your life. Even if it’s me! This is such a simple way to control your online experience, and not allow some rando on the internet to steal your joy!

ORGANIZE

Every once in a while I will go through the apps on my phone and remove any that I haven’t used in a while, or know that I no longer need. I am also a big fan of using folders to keep my apps organized and easy to find - scrolling through pages of apps to try to remember where that one little app I need right now is located is not an efficient use of my time - or yours! So clean ‘em up and sort ‘em into folders, my friend!

BACK IT UP

If you’re anything like me, you’ve got thousands of photos floating around on various devices, and maybe some are in the cloud and others are on SD cards and others still on your phone - grab a big external hard drive, and start backing those photos up! You’ll have them all in one place, and you won’t have to worry about tracking down photos in scattered places any longer!

Taking just a little time here and there to keep your online life organized will go a long way towards reducing the amount of time you spend overall in your online world - because while a lot of good can come from digital spaces, less digital time and more actual face time with the ones you love is priority number one! Now go forth and organize!

XOXO,

Angie
