Get Your Life Together - Brain Dump + Master Lists

I don’t know about you, but it seems like I always have a hundred things bouncing around my brain at all times - and that can make it hard to focus on what you actually need to be doing! One of the best ways that I’ve found to silence the chaos is to brain dump all those ideas!

First things first, grab a notebook and just start writing things down! There doesn’t have to be a specific order or topic - just get those thoughts out of your head! Once I’ve got all the DIYs and appointments and recipes and random things out of my head and onto paper, I like to turn them in Master Lists. Whether you keep those lists in a notebook that you carry around or in the Notes app on your phone, they are so handy to pull out when you need to add something or check and see if that item you found on clearance will check that box for that room decor you’ve been wanting! Here’s just a few Master List categories I like to have running!

Recipes + Meal Ideas

Have you ever seen a recipe come across your Instagram stories or YouTube and you are sure you’ll remember it but then you forget five minutes later? Or are you tired of having to google when you need a new recipe to fill in your meal plan? Keep a master list of recipes (and bonus, if it’s on your Notes app you can link directly to the recipe!) and meal ideas so you don’t have to go hunting all over when you need them!

Books + Movies

I always have a running list of books and movies (mostly documentaries!) that I’ve heard recommended on podcasts or by friends. That way when I need a new book on Audible or something to watch with the hubby, I know just where to find what I’m looking for!

Projects + DIYs

This might be my longest list, but having a central place for all of my ideas helps to keep me moving forward when I could be paralyzed by overwhelm! And when I find that perfect piece on sale, I know if it will actually work for my needs. (Bonus: keep a list of the measurements of your home and spaces so you’ll know if things will fit!)

Clothing Sizes + Needs

If you don’t have 8 kids like I do, it may be easier for you to remember everyone’s current clothing and shoe size, but it’s so helpful to know what everyone needs so you can pick up items when you find a great deal, even if they aren’t with you to try things on!

Gift Ideas

Anytime your kiddos mention a toy they’d like, or your husband points out a cool gadget that he’d find helpful, write it down!!! Then you have a go-to not only for yourself, but for family members who may want a wish list! And it wouldn’t hurt to keep an idea list for yourself, too!

There are countless lists you could keep, these are just a few that may be helpful to start with! So get on that brain dump, and let me know what Master Lists you are going to keep!

xoxo,

angie
