I know that the weight of responsibility that comes with choosing home education can so often feel heavier than you think you can carry - but I want you to remember that you know and love your kids better than anyone else in this world, and you can equip yourself to teach them well. Take heart, my friend! These children were given to you, and you are able to meet their needs! Trust yourself to make wise decisions, and you’ll be able to release some of that weight.
Have fun with your kids. Have poetry tea time, play games, go for hikes in the woods, read a good book and then watch the movie and discuss why the book was better (because it almost always is!) - learning doesn’t only happen on the pages of a book, and one of the best ways for your child to retain new information is through PLAY! So play a LOT, and allow yourself to absolutely delight in your children.
Find help. If that means asking for more support from family and friends, do that. If it looks like signing up your kids for a class in a subject that you just struggle (or don’t want to!) teach, do that. Maybe it means trading off babysitting with a friend because you need some time to be refreshed - do that. Take classes for yourself - online or in person - crafts or writing or psychology or whatever makes your brain tingle! And if you want specific homeschool help, consider taking my course, Master the Art of Home Education - I wrote it for homeschoolers just like you - to help your. clarify your vision and homeschool your children with confidence. And because you’re my blog friend, I have a discount code just for you. Enter the code BLOGFRIEND15 for 15% off the course!
