Get Your Life Together - CUT. IT. OUT.

Cut. It. Out.

Does anyone else think of Uncle Joey on Full House when they hear those three words? Just me? Okay.

But in all seriousness, when we’re discussing ways to get our lives in order, we often think of things we want or need to do or add, but a powerful way to make change is to actually remove things from your life!

Last week we talked about decluttering your home, and that’s a great first step to removing physical things from your life - creating space frees you in a lot of ways - so let’s take that idea a step further into our lives and the things that we do!

Check Your Calendar

Take a real, honest look at the things that you’re committed to, and the things that you’ve committed your family to. If your life feels harried and hurried, it’s probably time to cut something (or multiple somethings) out of your schedule. There is joy to be found in a full life, but full and busy are not the same things. Don’t glorify the busy.

Check Your Tech

Tech usage, that is. While the internet and social media have absolutely added to our lives in a lot of ways, they can also be over-used and bring more anxiety to our lives. Be honest with yourself about your time spent scrolling and consuming. Consider cutting out screen time between certain hours, or maybe on Sunday, or in whatever way creates space in your brain and your life for more connection and peace.

Check Your Heart

Okay, so this is a little vague, but our attitude and mindset and outlook on life really does affect how we relate to ourselves and others. Taking the time to examine yourself is always a worthwhile pursuit.

These are just a few ideas to get you started - there are so many more things to consider! Perhaps there are things you need to remove from your diet for health reasons, or people you need to remove from your life, or maybe you need to stop watching the news, or cut out excess spending. Think outside the box, my friend! Create space, create margin - then when something important arises that you want to add, you’ll be able to easily.

xoxo,

Angie
