Cozy Porch Makeover
The little side porch off my bedroom had been completely neglected, and mostly just a place to throw stuff, and it was long past time to give her a cozy southern-vibe makeover!
I’m sharing with you the furniture and decor pieces I chose to create this little haven where I can watch the llamas and the goats play while I sip my morning coffee - and if you want to see the full DIY process, as well as the paints and other things I used to complete the space, make sure you check out the video linked at the bottom of this post!

Let’s start from the bottom and work our way up! This understated (and affordable!) indoor/outdoor rug in beige and gray adds the perfect subtle base for all the other furniture and decor on the porch. The pattern isn’t too distracting, but it does add some visual interest. And did I mention affordable?
This was a set that I already had purchased earlier in the summer, and I knew it needed to find it’s home on the porch! The chairs are comfy, and it’s a perfect spot for Christopher or the kiddos to come join me for a chat!
Oh my word, this papasan chair is SO COZY! The chair and the cushion are both from World Market, and I was able to snag them on sale! This is the PERFECT spot to curl up and read or book!
I knew I wanted to be able to add some privacy, or some protection from the weather so I could enjoy my little porch rain or shine, and these curtains fit the bill! I did scotch guard them as well to add an extra layer of weather-proofing - and I didn’t order enough panels, so I will need to add a few more!
This isn’t the exact pouf I have, but it’s a great affordable piece to add an extra seat, a footrest, or a place to put a tray of cookies!
I loved styling this little table (leaving room for a coffee cup, of course!) and I love the pop of soft green in an otherwise very neutral-colored space!
Speaking of styling the table, this clear blue glass lamp was EXACTLY what I was looking for to add that cozy lamplight to my porch. It hadn’t yet arrived when I filmed the video, but isn’t it gorgeous?!
It wouldn’t be a proper Southern porch without some plants, now would it? And these white plant stands add a great little touch of charm!
