Confidence.

Confidence, wow, that's a loaded word right?! I mean, I bet many of us associate confidence with arrogance at times, or maybe you look at people who seem incredibly confident and only wish you could feel the same. This has been a long road for me. Honestly, it's something I've struggled with most of life, but never more than after having the twins. There's really two types of confidence we are talking about here, outer and inner.

Inner confidence, I felt like I finally got to a happy place with a few years ago. I had a really rough patch with friendships and it forced me to take a hard look at myself and where I felt I needed to change, but also, where I knew I was doing things right. I clung tightly to my faith as I navigated the road out of that mess, and while it was not easy, I came out on the other side much stronger and fully grounded in who I was. Well, rather "whose" I was. It's impossible for me to talk about confidence and self assurance without talking about faith, it drives every single thing I do and how I think. It's my measuring stick for success and for failure.

Evereve reached out to me and asked me if I'd talk about this whole idea of confidence, both inner and outer, and share about how I use style + fashion to help achieve outer confidence. I was more than happy to oblige as I've been a long time lover of Evereve and what their brand stands for. They believe in women and helping them feel their best. If you're lucky enough to live in an area with an Evereve store, then you may know all about the shopping experience! Trained stylists are there to help you with every step. You tell them all about your lifestyle (chasing kids, desk job, corporate big wig) and they help you pull clothes that will suit not just your body type, but your lifestyle. It really is an experience, not just a quick shopping trip.

I created a few looks and I want to share what it is about each one that makes me feel confident. For me, outward confidence is always made stronger when I feel good in my skin. I've always been the type to forsake trends for what is comfortable and what fits my body the best. Which brings us to.... SPANX!

Yes ladies, if you've been around TGN for any amount of time then you know my love affair with SPANX products. One of the most uncomfortable feelings for me (also because I have some sensory issues but that's for another blog post) is to feel like a busted can of biscuits. I wore their tanks under almost everything when I was postpartum with the twins and now I have a new love... their leggings. When I put these bad boys on I feel like Franc from Father of the Bride II, " a lift, a tuck, a little suction!" Girl, if your booty has started to slide down the back of your legs too, then you will LOVE these!!!

Cute booties, a graphic tee, and a cozy cardigan. Yes, please! Not only is this basically the perfect mom uniform, but you could swap out the shoes for tennis shoes, or the cardigan for a blazer and have two new looks!

Don't get me wrong, I love to pull together a really fun + different look, but man there is something to be said for easy. No fuss. Just toss it on and you're ready to go!

This is my JAM. I'm a big fan of free people. A lot of their sweaters and tops are just perfection. Soft, comfortable, and their sizing is quite friendly if you ask me! They make tons of tops that are long enough to wear with leggings, like this one! These jeans from Hudson are also so soft, it's almost like you're wearing leggings! This is my, "look, it covers my bum" pose. Not everyone cares, but I am definitely a cover the bum girl. Again, it goes back to what makes me feel good in my skin.

Every year Free people makes at least one or two tops that make it into my staple or must have pile. I wear them on repeat all fall and then wonder why I even bothered to buy anything else!

Okay, this is my Bad a$$ mama look. I live for movie quotes and this is totally my Cool Runnings, "I see pride! I see power! I see a bad a$$ mother, who don't take no crap off of nobody!" look.

It must be the faux leather jacket, but I am feelin' it. Jeans, a graphic tee and a jacket is another very repeatable look with lots of different pieces. It's also comfortable and really looks like your tried harder than you did :)

Confidence is not about having the best body, or showing the most skin, wearing the shortest shorts etc. In fact, some of the those things make me less confident. I want to feel good in my skin, like my clothes fit me well, and the style is expressing a part of my personality. I'm not someone who is super nailed down to one style or type of look. I like a lot of different things, and fashion is one of the ways I can express different facets of myself. Whether it's comfy leggings and an oversized sweater, or tight jeans and a leather jacket. There are all different versions of me, and they all make ME feel good!

Be sure to check out Evereve for all these looks and more! A huge thank you to them for letting me shop their site and pull together some really fun looks to share with you guys!

Tell me in the comments what is your go-to look for feeling confident?

xoxo,

Angie
